My name is Yolanda Whitehead founder and CEO of Wings Of Angels Christian Academy. After years of experience in the public, private, and charter school systems as a certified ELA teacher, I witnessed a troubling reality: a significant number of students were performing far below grade level, struggling with foundational skills in reading and writing. Many lacked the essential tools needed to meet academic standards, leaving them unprepared to thrive in their educational journey. This realization ignited a deep passion within me to address this gap in education. I recognized that the foundation for academic success begins in the earliest years of life. With this in mind, I envisioned creating a preschool where students would develop the critical skills necessary to enter grade school confident, prepared, and ready to excel. To bridge this gap, I began offering Saturday enrichment programs, one-on-one tutoring, and summer school sessions at my local library, focusing on elementary and middle school students. These efforts had a profound impact, helping at-risk students avoid retention and achieve success on state standardized tests and in the classroom. Building on this foundation, I launched my premium childcare consulting services, empowering other passionate educators and entrepreneurs to create exceptional childcare centers.
